AgritourismMoments and authentic taste in Apulia
Under Aragonese rule between1400 and 1500 the Masserie arised as an agricultural microcosmos, in which land workers, the owners of the Masseria and landlords lived together, although they had exactly separated areas this systems was still characterized by sharing and living together.
Over the centuries, shape and function have changed, and today the agritourism business is of course one of the best ways to enjoy these places. Places where hospitality and the result of an accurate refurbishment are offered by the people who have lived and cultivated them for generations. Masseria Salamina, one of the first “agritourisms” in Apulia, ideally combines the history of its territory and offers a holiday characterized by nature, natural food and the fascination of past times.
There are 20 rooms of various types as well as spacious and comfortable common areas, such as the reception, where you can meet the owners: they take care of you at your arrival personally personally and assure the well-being of the guests; the bar, where tasty aperitifs made from typical local ingredients and excellent Apulian wines are served, overlooks the sea on the horizon, where you can enjoy a pleasant breeze while relaxing under the shade of the centuries-old olive trees.
The Masseria’s restaurant offers traditional menus through dishes which highlight the taste of authentic, natural and organic ingredients. The are all produced by our farm and other agricultural and foodstuffs companies in the neighbourhood.
The Masseria, crowned by merlons and a small central tower, offers, among the wide and cozy common areas and secular olive trees of Apulia, twenty rooms of different types divided into standard, farmhouse apartment and manor’s house suites equipped with every comfort.
